Hi Guys
Can any of you lot make use of this it was given to me by my brother who got it from a company he used to work for. I assume it is all working as I can’t test it as we are all on 3 and have descent amounts of data included. It has been sat under my desk for what seems like ever. Rather than bin it if someone can use it it is free to whoever wants it including free postage.

November 13, 2018 at 9:28 am #28206That’s a cool little device. I don’t want it, I didn’t even know they had these standalone type of hotspot device on sale. Or has it been pulled from a car that had it installed from new? I thought car hotspot tbh just converted your phones 4gh into a WiFi hotspot. Ie like a WiFi router and your phone is the data input to it.
I’d could of done with one of these for the last few years, for our euro trips, I get my new car next week, I think it has some form of hotspot, but I think it piggy backs off a phone. Hathern than a stand alone module.
Over thd last few years, I just turned wifi hotspot on on one of the phones to supply data to those with none in the car. This year, was the first year that all in the car had their own data.
Still a cool device.
November 13, 2018 at 1:00 pm #28214I use Bluetooth to setup my tablet if I’m waiting in the car for the missus. Which is often. Then I can read my Kindle books or watch videos. Car also uses Bluetooth to contact phone, which to my uneducated eye must mean that’s how it all hangs together. Maybe…
Get 4G in the house now thanks to the EE Brightbox: once we are out of the village and going towards Louth, we get 4G from the Mast. Unfortunately, going East the other way towards our son & daughter’s village, we get zilch again until a few miles later.

I'm out.November 13, 2018 at 5:24 pm #28226Hi Mark, my daughter would very much like this if it’s still available please. It’s as much to use in my car as hers.
I’m old fashioned, do my homework, print off maps etc before traveling & carry a road atlas whereas she does everything on her phone. It does save squabbles over map reading though as daughter reads out directions from Google maps.

November 13, 2018 at 6:33 pm #28235I have OTT navigation wasbit! I also take a map, stick my phone in the side window on Android Auto, have been known to put up the Satnav too. Map is for double check if something goes wrong, as in Roadworks not notified the day before. I spent too many years directing Exercise convoy packets around Germany, I think.
