Blutooth Mp3 Music player with sleep mode
In bed while going to sleep I used to use a tape cassette player, once the tape came to the end the play button would eject and no power drain. If I used a C60 after 30mins (I could be asleep by then) it would turn off or a C90 would turn off afer 45mins.
So I need it to turn off at set times
I have been looking/searching for a similar but with blutooth mp3 player (portable not PC) with a sleep/timer/off mode after listening to my mp3.
I seem to find links advertising sleep/timer mode.
A couple I have looked at only seem to say about sleep when you read the section about Recorder & FM Radio & Sleep Timer.
Is this saying the sleep timer can only be used in recorder or Radio and not mp3 or could this be what I need.
Cheers
JohnNovember 12, 2018 at 8:54 pm #28181Google Play Music works for me. Just give it a playlist, and it stops when it’s finished.
Arch Linux, on a Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB, 5 (yes -5) HDs inc 5 SSDs, 4 RPi 3Bs + 1 RPi 4B - one as an NFS server with two more drives, PiHole (shut yours), Plex server, cloud server, and other random Pi stuff. Nice CoolerMaster case, 2 x NV GTX 1070 8GB, and a whopping 32" AOC 1440P monitor.

I looked in to google play, I am not sure how it works. It seems you need to be on the internet to use it. I have the music on my mobile I was after a device I can turn music off once asleep.

JohnNovember 13, 2018 at 9:00 am #28205You can download your ouwn music from Google Play (to play offline) – and most music players will have an option to just “stop” after a playlist. There are special apps that let you set a timer and will gradually fade your music after (e.g. 30 minutes). Just search “Music Sleep Timer” in the play store. any way though ‘m sure your phone will achieve what you want without spending any money.

I have been checking (searching) out mobile sleep timer, most are for Iphone and tablets.
Mine is android and doesn’t have manufacture sleep timer.
I tested standard play of a folder, once it reached the last track (in the folder) it
stopped.Just the job, however I went on to find and DL (to mobile) a sleep timer from the play store.
Tested the new sleep timer, perfect other than the nags, it doesn’t stop play though.
Thanks for the help I got there in the end.
Cheers

………or even nights!!!???
November 13, 2018 at 5:34 pm #28228Google Play Music has a sleep timer built in as well (noticed it today).
I also think it picks up music files on the phone as well without having to download them or upload them to Google Play Music (similar to Google Photos, as that can act as a gallery app for the phone itself).
But it looks like you’re all sorted.

I’ve got the Pro version, so can’t test the free sleep timer, but there shouldn’t be a difference. You set the amount of time, the volume to fade to (presumably 0% is off), and whether to finish the final song if it takes you over the timer e.g. if you’ve got a 30 minute timer and a song starts at 29 minutes, will it cut it off.
I didn’t realise that it was an option, which is a shame, I could have done with it last week.
November 14, 2018 at 3:41 pm #28284All the major media players have sleep timers. I use Audibles or the podcast one every night. Set it for 30 min intervals. Usally 4 times a night at least!
November 14, 2018 at 4:08 pm #28286To be honest I hadn’t really thought about it. I’ve never needed one before but because the baby’s been ill, I’ve been awake at all hours. Something gentle to help me drop off would have been handy.
I might try out a language course or a podcast now that I know about it though
