I have over the past week or so spent some time trying to block the spammers and although you do not see much of the issue on the front end of the site this morning alone there 20 odd attempts within 2-3 hours to access the admin and gut’s of the site. So to nip this in the bud I have blocked most countries appart from a few like the United Kingdom for example 🙂 Isle of Man and a few others that I have not yet had issues with. Hopefully this will not break things but we’ll see how it goes.

Russia & China at the top of the list. Its only been active 30 mins though so it will be intresting to see the results. I do get a log of attempted visits. I’ll report back this aft to see how it fairs 🙂 I’ll have to have a think about people who go to places like belgium beer drinking 😉 and some how work arround that.

I was never good at geography so could some one look at the images below and see if there should be any of the currently blocked countries to be unblocked so its not for example blocking any isles near us etc…

Couldn’t see Scotland on that list.??

There’s just a few EU countries, but folk say they’re headed off that way, so they can be un-barred temporarily.

How long for – we should require visas off them. We’re only United for as long as they want to stay, and it seems to be more than just a vociferous minority!! Whether that will change post-Brexit will have to be seen.?

All OK by me Lee: the only one that would bother me might be Germany, but I do not anticipate traveling there again and only phone friends there by landline anyway. Plenty of family & friends in Scotland, so that’s covered.

You have to protect the site, think we all understand that. Well done for covering that.

Didn’t see Yorkshire on the list though.??

🙂 Sorry @bullstuff2 but I would block myself from the site even if I could block Yorkshire and then who would keep a check on you! ??

I’ll try not to ?. I can only block by I.P address and Country.
