Fell off twice Nolan, then found that there was something lightly smeared on the window glass. Cleaned the car including windows yesterday, used “Astonish” on the windows and was rightly astonished: it worked! Not used Apple car play, but did once use apple maps of my sons phone. It done the trick but I didn’t like the way it seems to have more writing to follow, than the arrows that Google maps does.

Hard to explain, but I find Google maps is the best for getting alot of info across at a glance.

I use to use waze alot, for trh community aspect, but if I’m gong on a motoway trip I’m unsure off I’ll alway use g maps as that’s (for me) is by far the best at telling you what lane to be in when coming off motoway. The junctions that may have 3 lanes and the road spits ect.. I find Google is always the best.

Though in France it was a little wonky at times, but I think half of that was down to my brain having to also calculate for the oppersite side of the road.

Over all I’ve found apple maps to be my least favourite out of the big map names. That’s not my apple bias either. All I want from a mapping app is fast info at a glance. For me atm Google is top of that list.

My new car will have auto and Apple CP so I’ll be able to join the party. I don’t like or see the point of auto on the phone. Used it a few times. But it’s never stuck with me. Probably cos I set up my book of pod cast before I set off, and if I need a sat nav, I just say “ok goo… Navate to etc. Works every time.

I used my Hudl 2 tablet as a stat nav a couple of years back traveling across Europe, before data was cheap.

So to save on the cost of a sim and data, just download ‘Here maps’, it is excellent, and doesn’t need data, you can dl the maps you need all free. Was Nokia here maps. Not sure who owns them now, but it’s a great product.

The 8” tablet made an excellent satnav.

I have here maps on my all my phones and use it as a fall back for two occasions 1.if I’m in a data black spot and have got lost and 2. Leaving sporting events or theme parks.

Ive noticed all googlevmap and Tom Tom users drive the same way, so that’s 95% of today’s moterists, I found out that Here maps offers different routse to the rest, so when you know 10k other cars will be going my way, I find Here maps routing come in very handy.

Though if you use Google or tom Tom, a good tip is to drive against your directions (and the conjestion) for long enough untill it stops telling you to turn around, and you’ll dypass the traffic. Never head towards to closes motorway junction, as everyone else’s Sat nav is also going that way. Alway quicker to head towards the next town even if it mean going away form home, and through a town.

I just hate sitting still, I’d rather spend the time in motion.
