Some stunning stuff coming out of Nvidia.

Amazing technology and its for games. Shee?

Still, for the longest time the most demanding thing a PC could do was run a game and the game engine the most powerful collection of sofware bar non.

I watched Jensen do the opening presentation. Its actually worth watching to get a crasp of where this tech has come from and going to.

      Some mind boggeling stuff.. ?

It turns out one of the most important parts of the recent CAD mega machine was the graphics card processor.

Having said that it was “only” a 6GB 1050 Ti

@Dave, tbh I was quite surprised that you could ‘get away’ without using a ‘workstation’ graphics card, At one time Autocad and others seemed to be in a conspiracy with GPU manufacturers as they only unlocked some options when workstation drivers were present. These restrictions must have been removed.

Have a look at the NVIDIA website Ed. The presentation was posted out to those on their mailing list. It seems I deleted it.

So, Jensen goes on about his AI computers and how they train them to be efficient and accurite and they have massive capability. No good for the AI part of the RTX.

But once learned as it has been that AI part becomes concise. That can then be added to the RTX software and will work fine with the smaller AI chip within the RTX and in this case it was to help out with ray tracing.
