At 22:08 i oreded a Bluetooth speaker, DS charger (DS to USB) cable and a yeelight bulb . Just now I got a notification saying the cable and bulb will be here tomorrow.
I’ve never seen them do next day after 20:00h usally the cut off is 17:00_20:00, which I gathered was based on the stored location of the item , so I’m very impressed .
If they don’t arrive I won’t be surprised , or bothered . Time will tell.
January 21, 2017 at 11:45 pm #2423I suppose it depends on the cut-off time for next day and the location of what you want. If your order is processed before the cut-off time I see no reason why the would not attempt it especially if you’re a prime customer. Believe it or not, it’s not economical to hold stock longer than necessary.

January 21, 2017 at 11:53 pm #2425Next time, order from your friendly eBay arbitrage seller. 😉
January 21, 2017 at 11:54 pm #2426Definitely yes, that’s what I said. But 20:00h has been my latest cut off in all the years I’ve been with prime. . I wonder if we have a closer Wearhouse now. Not that I know where they are .
January 21, 2017 at 11:55 pm #2427Jason, you’ll have to put your link in your Sig. I’m sure regulars are allowed biz links.
January 22, 2017 at 8:09 am #2432I am still thinking about the rules of the forum and were I stand on links.

January 22, 2017 at 1:21 pm #2449Well the packages was delivered at 07:42, no one heard the driver so they was also considerate of the time. I don’t think they actually knocked as just put them in the “safe place” the garden ahead, given we have dogs, we never usally miss a knock at the door.
But how would we ever know that we have missed a know before………
January 23, 2017 at 12:57 pm #2541Ordered a new doorbell from Amazon late last night, not a Prime customer and used the Standard delivery option. Just got back online now, email says it will be here tomorrow. This is not unusual, I have had next day deliveries if I order early enough. Amazon has a lot of sneerers, but I like it.
Doorbell is German, also works as a burglar alarm inside on the two receivers. The last one was by some Chinese outfit, bought in a local *store. Cost half the price and let in water. Have to see if I get what I pay for I guess
*Called “Trotter’s Traders”. Seriously, they do a roaring trade in cheapo stuff, started with one shop and moved to a superstore-size place on the edge of town. Everything from carpets to food, to tools, curtains, blinds, loads of stuff, some good, some not so good. Cushty, Rodney! :yahoo: This time next year, New York. Or Lincoln, anyway. :good:
And they didn’t have to buy the name, Beeb had not thought of copyright and was told that it was used in another context anyway. There is even Del Boy’s van pictured on the wall, without the graphics. B-)

He might be a canny old dog, but I don’t think he’s a GiftHound. Isn’t Jason located around Burton, not Birmingham. It’s near, but not that close.
January 23, 2017 at 8:27 pm #2571Could well have been me if it wasn’t for the Birmingham bit. As you say, close, but not Burton.
January 24, 2017 at 9:36 am #2612So basically you’re ordering from eBay, but the seller is purchasing the item from Amazon and shipping direct to the customer? It doesn’t seem like that would be profitable when taking into account eBay/Paypal fees as well.

January 24, 2017 at 11:54 am #2617It’s not profitable. Not at all. Don’t do it. Waste of time. 😉

Haha! Best of luck on it, it’s not something that I would intend on doing (selling on eBay is an experience I try and avoid if possible – though I guess shipping direct from Amazon would mean that skipping the post office would be avoided which is part of the eBay drama!).

January 24, 2017 at 6:04 pm #2632You find alot of stuff is more expensive on ebau than Amazon , bit people don’t cross check prices and just take it a giving it’s cheaper.
Also you see alot of pound and bargain shops stuff on eBay at twice to cost, Amazon too intact. Sometimes that cheap x , is actually way more that you should be paying.
January 24, 2017 at 7:23 pm #2637Not forgetting that Amazon is a lot less hassle than some Ebay activity.

I'm out.January 25, 2017 at 1:19 am #2643Just attempted an order to collect from Screwfix. Got to the checkout, entered card details & was about to press the confirm button when I noticed that on collection the card has to be presented at the counter & the PIN number entered. That means I can’t get anyone else to collect my order … so they lost the sale & I ordered from an Ebay seller instead.

Never been asked for the card, the most they’ve ever asked for was to see a copy of the email on my phone as they could not find the order! that said might be a little more secure at your local Screwfix

January 25, 2017 at 8:41 am #2653One word answer ‘Fraud’.
I am not saying you or anyone else commits fraud, but a large number of frauds are being committed via ‘customer not present’ card transactions. Shops and other traders must balance lost orders through fraud prevention against lost good through fraud. Assuming a (high) mark up of 10% profit per order, one fraud costs about the profit from 9~10 safe orders. So they do the maths and in this case it worked against your order, I doubt that they were upset as they likely thought that your cancelled order meant that you were doubtful of passing the fraud tests, that is assuming anyone saw the cancellation.
