Anyone else experiencing this problem. When i log in I find that whatever I am reading seems to refresh for no reason. This has only happened in the last week or so.

Your lucky Alan I tried to login to Micromart and all I get

        The connection has timed out

The server at forum.micromart.co.uk is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

        Cheers
        John

You tried to login to forum.micromart.co.uk 🙂 Talk about raising the dead.

Yes, it will refresh when you login.

I don’t understand why you want to ” raise the dead ” as Lee puts it so fittingly, Alan and JB. Even the parent company, Dennis Publishing, has been sold, as in another forum thread here today.

I was looking for something from MM on my computer and thought to use Cortana – one of the links was Moderation Management which describes itself as being :-

“…. a lay-led non-profit dedicated to reducing the harm caused by the abuse of alcohol. (If your life is challenged by alcohol, you have arrived at the right place.)

Looks like some things never change and we’d fit in there very nicely!!

I don’t understand the question and why anyone is trying to log in to mm. I thought it went dead new years day 2016 or 17.

Like Steve I do not understand the need or purpose, but you MIGHT be able to get something out of the Wayback Machine – it is very hit or miss on sites such as MM

OK I guess I put this in the wrong place. It was nothing to do with MM. I am referring to Forumite.

It is still loading each page twice with a few seconds gap. Anyone else???

Not seen that behaviour. What browser are you using? Maybe your browser does not properly support the latest webm(?). Edge in particular has had reported issues.

No problems with loading twice here and I am using Firefox. In fact, everything working fine, has been for ages.

I have used Opera, Vivaldi, Firefox, Chrome and IE and still get the problem. Also on two computers.

I have never been there before but I thought that I would try it out. All appeared well with me, I opened it up and there was what I expected, without a problem or issue. I think it could be something unique to your set up – though I have no idea what that could be.

When you say ‘seems to refresh’, is that a function of page size?

As you are experiencing it across all browsers I suspect that it is an OS issue. e.g. paging file size/fragmentation problems,. In the absence of anything else I’d try cleaning up the page file. Set it to zero, reboot, then run disk clean (especially the system files) and get rid of the old installs/updates. Now reset the page file to something sensible and reboot.

Still having this problem on all browsers and now of 5 machines. It is driving me crazy as every time I start reading a topic it refreshes and I have to start reading again. A real disincentive to use this forum.

                                    Anyone got any other ideas.

I don’t use a paging file as I have SSDs throughout so it is disabled.

Does it happen on a smart phone over 3/4g?

                                        Some weird ISP issue possibly?

It’s not a site or browser issue as nobody else suffers from it. Yet all your machines and all their browsers do, so logic says it seems to be something at your end.

Are you using a proxy server?

No I am not using a proxy server.

I still have the same problem on 3/4G while at my caravan.
