      I was not even aware of this new version until I just opened gimp in Manjaro and it looked very odd. Any how you can find out all about it here.

        Don’t know about GIMP but I’m loving Manjaro. Just got the Gnome version installed in VirtualBox, very nice.

          @ricedg It’s not a bad distro. I am giving opensuse a bash on a spare laptop also gnome but I am much happier with a debian base. I have put KDE Mint on my workhorse which is very pleasant to use and recommend every body should give the KDE environment a go although not on really old systems. I tried ubuntu the other day and that was removed within the hour.

            LXDE is my choice for old systems. Not perfect, but reasonably flexible. It is also a good intro to the Pi environment.

            However if you care to challenge yourself, try E17. It happily runs on old systems but give it a new system and configure it up to the eyeballs in its Bodhi-Moksha incarnation and it can produce mind-blowing results. link

            My only criticism is that as it is bleeding edge be prepared for crashes – not a production environment imho.

              As I mentioned above I have been re-visiting KDE and have come across a neat little feature called KDE Connect. Although it’s not some thing I would generally use and I have not fully tried it, for it to be on Linux where you tend to find these gimmicks a little useless or an arse to set up I found it some what opposite. It’s very good for what it is. Any way, take a look here!

              Its been about a long time but I have just noticed it plus I still use an early red bt dial phone more than my mobile 🙂
