I’ve had an email about renewing my LastPass subscription, and the price is doubling.

I’ve subscribed for the last three years, and it’s worked well on the PC. It’s been a pain on the phones though. I can’t see anything in the features that stands out as new, so either I haven’t noticed them before, or there’s nothing new that I find useful. It’s still only $24 a year, but I’m wondering what your opinions are, and whether you guys think it’s worth it.

Depends how often you change contacts/passwords. I use Keypass for Android and Windows/Linux. It needs a bit of housekeeping from time to time but that is all. I personally use a usb stick to do the housekeeping but as the article says you can automate the process.

I’ve been using the free version for just over a year now and have just upgraded to the Premium account. I went Premium so that I could use it on the phone and the iPad Pro – it’s not as intuitive on mobile devices, but better than logging onto a public PC for something important. I found it very useful the other week when I was in Spain, I’d forgotten my CC PIN number and was able to log in to the Barclaycard site and find out what that was.

I run two password managers alongside each other – Keepass and 1Password. 1Password because it’s fair superior to Keepass on iOS and the Mac and Keepass because I need Android and Windows cross compatibility and the 1Password Windows app is poor (I use the standalone, not the subscription version).

On Android, Keepass2Android I found to be the best client – autosyncs via SFTP to my NAS, but works with other cloud services etc.

I use it daily, hardly on PC any more, mostly on mobile. So I’ll happily pay 24. Always thought a dollar a month was far too cheap vs it’s us fullness.

Think mine renews in October iirc. It’s been about 10 years now since I subscribed as back in the day the only reason to sub was to get access to the mobile view, or rather dolphin browser lastpass plug in. Do you need to sub for mobile access now? I’m not sure, I just paid as a way to donate to the cause.

For something that I use so often, 2 dollars pm is fine by me. However there are other services. But I’m not moving.

                Thanks guys 🙂

I’ve had a look, and ad free is the only thing I use from the premium features. As Steve said though, it’s only $2 a month. I’m going to stick with it this year, and see how it goes. The 1GB vault may be what finally kills off Dropbox for me too, as it will be handy for my medical records.
