I’ve been an F1 fan my whole life, i must of watched 30 seasons now. Last year i said if nothing changes the 18 season would be my last.
On todays viewing i think it may well be my last year.tbh i may not make it past the UK race. Usually about the halfway point.
I wanted this post to be so much more positive.
March 25, 2018 at 8:36 pm #18270The race was very processional – a tragedy that it got decided by someone’s dodgy wheel change.
Never trust an atom - they make up everything !
March 25, 2018 at 10:18 pm #18466It was a snore fest.

Forumite Points: 0Ross Brawn saying that things won’t change for a while. Hopefully this is a blip, Australia is really a street circuit, no real overtaking opportunities. The next few tracks are purpose built with good breaking opportunities for a lunge.
All the interviews I’ve seen of Alonso show him much happier though 😀
March 27, 2018 at 12:56 pm #18606They need moto go style two competitions in one. Give all teams the choice, of unlimited budget or fixed. And the only design rules are tou need to use thr Fia approved safety shell.
Tell the imaginations of the engineers go mad.
On the track side, bring back refuling, and drop the ome tyre for all, let teams pick again.
This way teams have so many veriables. Faster cars could try for no stop races nursing the cars aroind, slower cars 4 or 5 stops changing tures and splashing minimum fuel needed in, going flat out. And all the different combos inbetween.
Also ease up on the daft grid penalties for none relevant infractions.
Them few changes, would make a double champion ship, in one, but it waoild make two exciting ones. Well for the first 5 years untill the desiners and strat men figure it out.
As it it, playoff with logos and replacing grid girls, is basoclly re arangong the deck chairs.

Forumite Points: 0One thought with that is that the optimum strategy with tyres and fuel can all be calculated out, so they would all follow the same pattern. The biggest issue this year is going to be the 3 engine rule limit. Hamilton backed off hugely at the end to save the engine.
I bet we’re going to get that a lot. Talk of teams going to just run 4 engines, taking a penalty where they think they will have the least pain.
March 27, 2018 at 5:07 pm #18617That is true in today’s world where cars all all but identical. If they get given a standard safety cell, and let do whatever they want. Everyones cars could wildly differ.
I’m just spitballing some ideas that could at the least shake ot up.
April 9, 2018 at 7:45 am #19401Yesterday was great from lap 1 to 57(iirc). A total reversal to Aus. Well done all.
April 15, 2018 at 4:14 pm #19688Another great race.
April 16, 2018 at 7:32 am #19718Ruined for me by watching Sky News at the wrong time. They blabbed the result with no warning as their coverage had finished.
April 16, 2018 at 8:45 am #19720That’s crappy. I avoided my google now feeds and stuff like that, as I watched the C4 highlights.
Always a hard thing to do, with live sports. I actually missed the last lap, due to a call. But given the race was so good, I didn’t mind. Even if the second pair swapped places.
Thought it a great race indeed. Maybe a good season ahead.
