For those interested, Gizmodo has a field-guide to installing Android on a variety of laptops/operating systems. Nothing earth-shattering in the guide as I know others have tried Bluestacks, but time moves on and OS emulation becomes ever more useful & powerful. It might just be worth taking another look at Android apps.

A lot of the recent Chromebooks support Android natively now, I got one about 6 months ago and I haven’t touched my Shield K1 since. I’m seriously considering selling my K1.

For me a Chromebook with native Android support is  the perfect device.

Let me know if you decide to sell the K1.

My Shield K1 is up for sale if anybody is interested, I did let Dave know but he’s out of the market for now.

It’s been in a Poetic case since day one, the case and screen saver have a few marks but that’s their job.

PM me if interested, no random noobs.

                Yes bummer.

With some quotes for bigger systems for bigger clients coming along I’ve just invested £600 in some professional CCTV design software and a ram upgrade on the PC.

It always makes me laugh when out with the installers and they say things like “at least you don’t have to buy any tools…”

Know what you mean Dave. Senior Grandson has just bagged a Microsoft course at Lincoln Uni, new college, £15,000. His company want him on it and have managed to get funding, they pay 50%, gov pay the rest. He has to buy some very expensive books and software, I asked him if he needed help. He smiled and said no, granddad, look at my salary slip now. I was highly impressed, until he said “That should at least double in 2 years when I blow through this course.”

Met one of his old schoolmates with him yesterday in town. “How are you surviving now, got a job yet?” Gson told him what he was doing, asked him where he was working. “Aldi.”

This is the Aspergers lad: 4 years ago we wondered how we would ever get a job. Now he has a cracking job and his own flat. I just wish his physical health was better.

When the Thought Police arrive at your door, think -
                  I'm out.

Bob, you make me jealous, just a bit really, damned good luck to him I say. He has done it he has earned it. Not been a great evening here at home. Maybe I’ll explain later.
