      Anybody else feel the earthquake?

My whole house ‘jumped’, my mug of tea spilt itself and  a load of car alarms were triggered.

Armageddon for the welsh or Planeman as cracked the beers open early ? Or got him self a new woman and the earthed moved. Hopefully Yorkshire will get one, I feel left out. Had one in the middle of the night about 9 year ago that shuck me out of bed.

No ? here, driving later. And my box of craft beers just arrived. ?

It apparently was in a place called Cwmllynfell, not to far from Neath.

Any old mining around there Nolan? Wales has always been mined, even before the Romans arrived. Copper, Tin, Lead, Silver and of course coal. Not to mention Slate, although most of that is up north of course.

                The place is a honeycomb!

I see that there was an earthquake earlier today, I guess we generally have little shakes here, in the middle east there were some bigger sheiks, but I had to go to Japan for really big shakes when the floor would ripple for perhaps half a minute. I would put it down to last night’s beer only to look up in the office and see everyone under their desks hissing at me to take cover.

Bob, apparently there is a open cast mine there.

I’m well aware of the mining history of Wales, spent some holidays gold and silver mining

Yes – felt it here (Solihull). Very slight though.

PM I got those craft beers today as well……not good for me.

The IPA, Lager and Pale Ale are drinkable but wouldn’t buy again – the porter  I found disgusting and went down the plug hole. I don’t mind porter and stout but this one was vile for me (chocolate – no!!)

On the plus side the boss likes the glasses, and I quite liked the ring-pull that takes the whole top off the can so you can sip it like a glass (I remember Asahi Japanese beer used to be like that)

Finished my driving duties so just sampling a Porter now. I find it quite nice, even though I don’t eat chocolate (or any sweets for that matter) and haven’t done for years. It was a staple part of my diet when I started work full time at 15, at least 4 bars a day.

The glasses are lovely and the way the cans open is brilliant.

Fair enough – shame youre not local else you could have had my other 4 cans of it! I like all this beer revival and all that but some things go too far for me….this collection probably falls in that category (citrus, mango, chocolate…not for me I’m afraid). the Adnams on the other hand – absolute winner – loved them all.

4.4 apparently. Very slight here, more a noise than feeling of movement.

TBH I thought it was related to the work we’re having done in the kitchen until daughter whats app’d me from Bangor to ask if I’d noticed anything.

The give away should have been the sight of loads of Oxfam workers screwing anything in sight outside. ?

It was strange here. Nothing at all for us, but Facebook was full of local friends asking what had happened. Some of them are only a few streets away too.

I never felt a thing! The last one about ten years ago opened a slight  crack I’m my original 100 plus year old living room covings. It was filled and painted so ill check them out when I next go in there. It isnt often mind. I was pushed out years ago.

It seems Wales felt the brunt of it.

Jukebox if you felt it in Solhull, you were lucky, not a million miles away and I didn’t feel it.

Maybe I was driving over a speed hump at the time.

                                      Cheers

The epicentre I think was my fecking lounge !

I don’t know how the didn’t notice this happening (see link, as I don’t know how this forum handles down sampling)

The bath room is just as bad, but just your bog standard covings I installed and I don’t want you seeing my cobwebs lol.

Builders are renovating the old good shed at the top of my road. I wonder if I could blame them ???

Likewise, for style and style of cracks. They used to be in every one of the examples but we recently had some filled and painted to make the others look worse.
