      Ars Technica has a review of VideoLan 3.0. Well worth a look as the new Vetinari version supports HDr as well as 360 video. As may be gathered from the headline all platforms except Linux are currently available in the new release.

        VLC has done 360 video for a while, just not very well in my experience, it worked but looked a bit odd.
