February 10, 2018 at 11:14 am #16778Cheap as chips. https://www.scdkey.com/microsoft-windows-10-pro-oem-cd-key-global_1227-20.html
Has anyone actually bought one and it worked?
Might be worth buying one as a spare “just in case”.
February 10, 2018 at 11:17 am #16779It seems Keith hasn’t bought chip lately. They are no longer cheap.
February 10, 2018 at 11:47 am #16780I’m not sure, a trawl through the web suggested mixed results, some were very happy and others said they had problems with e.g. credit card fraud or stuff not working. It could be good or a gamble.
February 10, 2018 at 5:15 pm #16789Rip off. The last W10 Pro key I bought from E-Bay was £3.69.
I’ve never paid more than £4.00 and even got one for £1.69.
I can reassure you that they all still work.
February 10, 2018 at 8:57 pm #16796I purchased a few off ebay last June 2017, never used and I don’t think I intend to use them.
I am sure they still work.
I have 3 up for grabs, you could always try them out.

Do you mean the ones originally in the link at $14 or the eBay ones or the ones johnbarry gave away.

February 15, 2018 at 3:17 pm #16870Just to chip in done a few cheapies on ebay (checking for good feedback) and all AOK – and all in the £3 – £5 mark. Don’t know how/why but suspect they (MS) just happy to get 10 rolled out before they kill off everything else.

I’ve said it before so I’ll say it again
Guinea Pigs, the more the merrier, the quicker they find and repair faults.
It’s the only way, after stopping the free upgrade to 10 (realising they still need more testers)
How long will it last is the question

JohnFebruary 16, 2018 at 2:59 pm #16880Oh you sceptic John ?
I normally question Microsofts motives too but the Windows error reporting service (WER) you pointed to is actually used most often to deal with errors in third party software.
WER is the last stage of dealing with unhandled exception errors and it is the thing that creates a mini dump to send to microsoft for possible investigation.
February 16, 2018 at 9:00 pm #16881Thanks Graham I learn something new.

JohnMarch 25, 2018 at 11:32 pm #18467It been ages since doing a clean windows install, think if I recall I just did the update through W7 last time. After I get a code from eBay do I download everything from Ms?
March 25, 2018 at 11:40 pm #18468Yes, you will be sent a link if buying a code from fleebay with a ms download link.
