I arranged to return some stuff back to Amazon (yesterday, Sunday 17/12/17)

Once it all went through I had a reply that it will be collected Next Business Day.

That is today so I am expecting a collection today, however as it was the weekend would it mean they got it today and collect next business day (Tue 19/12/17)

So it’s not today and no need to wait in? till tomorrow?

      Edit:

But if it means tomorrow I need to cancel as I am at the hospital Tue, how do I cancel.

      Cheers
      John

Please ignore the above I have contacted Amazon.

It’s that I need to change collection day not cancel the return.

        Cheers

I had to read that about 4 times John. I’m sure you know now today (mon)would be the collection day. Amazon like Google uses mostly computers and robots.

Your cancellation request etc ….. would never pass a human set of eyes. Amazon delivers and collects seven days a week.

I find it easier to return most things via the local collect plus shop. So I’ll tick that option instead of home pick up.

            Thanks Duke

Amazon replied (as you say) it will be today.

local collect plus shop, I have seen one of those

The nearest collection is too far. It’s a tin outside the shop, I don’t think the box will fit in the tin.

Argos use my local sainsbury, not sure if Aamzon do.

            Cheers

I think your thinking of “Amazon Lockers” .collect plus is the old mail order return service. My local spar and one-stop shops offer to collect plus. Basically, they are sidestepping the post office.

You give it the server/cashier and they scan it in. As soon as they scan it, your item is classed as returned, for the most part. The local parcel delivery guy picks them up then from there. I find not easier as you have 30 days to return Amazon stuff, with prime at least, so it’s far more convenient to drop not off, has set a day for the pickup guy.

The lockers I think you mention, I’ve never used, are meant for people to have deliveries to it, the type that is never home in the day (most folk). Amazon alerts you that your item is there, and issue you with a one-time passcode to said locker

I know places like bus and train stations have them. Don’t think there is one close to my location. if I was away in London for example, I could order something for delivery to the closest locker to my location.

Last year in Spain I left my Nikon charger at home, my first thought was to buy and use the closest locker, sadly the service wasn’t available in Spain then.

Thanks Dave the map shows the shop that has the tin outside, I didn’t know you go in as such.

Could you remove the link to mypostcode from the forum please (not keen)

                  Cheers

Do you have the Amazon app on your phone?  If so open app, open the side menu, scroll to the bottom, select customer service, then select the item you want to discuss from the drop-down menu. The select call me back.

Amazon will call you within 10 seconds. explain to them, and set up for u to drop off at your closest collect plus point.

That way you can drop it off this afternoon, and have your refund today or tomorrow.

Thanks Duke, sadly I don’t use the internet on me mobile. Did once and it cost me a bomb. That was using my own router, I did get the money back.

I never carry my glasses and can’t see text on browsers and my fingers, thumbs are too big.

I miss out on apps and that’s why I keep my res at 1024 x 768 the bigger the res the smaller the text.

                        Cheers

                          I forgot to add

Someone from Hermes came and said he had to collect a parcel. I got the parcel for him (large box). He said he couldn’t take it as he had no room in his car. I asked what happens now he said he would cancel it with, no longer required.

                          :???????

So it’s still here, I contacted Amazon 8hrs ago, with the reply they will get back to me within 6 hours? that aint the truth not heard anthing since.

                          Cheers

Of two Hermes guys around my locality, one has an old Combi van, the other a big old Audi estate with back seats pemanently down. Both say they have local garages keeping an eye out for old  part-ex bangers, get them road – safe and through an MOT, use as long as they can. The Combi guy has had 3 vans, at the same time as the Audi diesel estate. Don’t know which Audi, but it’s a big old bus. Always looks distressed, but keeps going, driver says 180K + miles. Both drivers have other family cars.

It was only a small car and was full of parcels. Perhaps some can only use what they have. He did bring me a parcel as well, not big enough to make room.

                              Cheers
