Just noticed on Amazon they are discounting the new Echo and the Echo dot – but the interesting bit is if you buy one you can add a TP-Link smart plug (they are excellent) for a tenner. If you are thinking of an Echo for yourself or as a present the cheap smart switch is a nice bonus.

Seen this deal last night. Also doing the new gen 2 echo for £20 off (so iirc £69) and the same £10 option for the TP smart plug.

So a nice saving of £35 on the two.

The plug atm is £25. Up from £17 of my first on, and £20 I paid for my second two.

I have noticed over the last month or so, the prices of alot of things have gradually but quickly been moving upwards. I think the price of the pound shift is really starting to show. I don’t think 2018 is going to be a good year.

Got interested until I saw it’s a smart plug and not a smart switch ?

Can you not edit BL? @blacklion1725

I edited it for you. We can’t have typos on the forum?

I didn’t even notice it in the title, but I knew what you wad on about as I’d seen the offer. So I must of filtered it out. The same way I filter out all my typos. Reading what I think I wrote, not what I actually wrote.

How can I edit Duke? Can’t see the button – sure I could before but even then thought it was only the post and not the title? Wan’t to uphold your strict standards!

Standard Edit button disappears from posts about 15 mins after initial posting. The Duke has Mod privileges, so can beautify our mis-steps at a later date.

Strict standards – that’s another factor entirely!!??

BL – is I forget not all can edit. I’ve always had the option, so never think about it. So I have no real excuse to my low standards.

It was both in the title and in the post you put ‘switch’. If Dave wouldn’t of mentioned it I’d never of noticed.

I’d not of changed it if it was just in the he post. But as it was the title I did to stop any future confusion.

Got an Echo coming in the post, collecting it tomorrow. Got it free when I bought my Hive thermostat this week (British Gas installing that on the 27th, so we’ll see how that goes!)
