That big banner is showing again and covering the topic or and my pre sig (waiting for the ability to add pics to sigs)

Cheers
JohnNovember 9, 2017 at 10:31 pm #13367That’s a menu John. Sadly this is happening to you because of your low res settings. At the moment there is not much I can do especially as the menu grows with new additions. You could turn your res above 1024 or shrink your open window so it reverts to mobile view.
No images planned for sigs!

November 10, 2017 at 7:51 am #13372Thanks Lee
That’s it then I will have to put up with it. The larger the res the smaller the view my eyes can’t cope.
I get tiny white lines running down the screen, maybe graphics.
Cheers
JohnNovember 10, 2017 at 8:35 am #13374Try and force the mobile view John. Could be an option. I don’t know for sure, but there is probably a pluggin you can use to do it.
Then you should get a larger font, and cleaner ui, on a lesser res. Maybe.
Update – try this if your on chrome
November 10, 2017 at 10:39 am #13377Thanks Duke I use FF more, I am using chrome with the extension and it seems no different,
Thinking deeper I looked in user agent switcher.
Samsung Galaxy S3 (Handset)
Samsung Galaxy Tab (Tablet)
Etc I am on a Desktop PC not tabs or phones
Cheers
JohnNovember 10, 2017 at 12:58 pm #13385We know your on a desktop John, that’s why you was sent a link to a chrome extention to see if forcing the mobile page helped. The extention was just an example that it’s possible, Im sure there is a similar dev tool for FF.
What res is your monitor? Pic a phone with approximate res as your monitor (in the user agent switcher drop down) , and the mobile page ‘should’ make the mobile page fit better for you on your screen. If Lee built it right ? it should dynamically adjust.
If not, I don’t know.
April 3, 2018 at 7:54 pm #19168I am pleased to say the banner on this site stays the same, giving no problems on my cover image. (see 1st post in this thread)
Nice one Lee

Cheers
JohnApril 3, 2018 at 8:13 pm #19172As long as your happy @johnbarry ? On a side note who is @clundy ? Always on forumite but never spoke, very mysterious.

April 3, 2018 at 8:15 pm #19174Click within browser window then try hitting Ctrl and + a couple of times when in higher res mode!
April 3, 2018 at 8:29 pm #19176More than happy Lee
Ed I don’t even have to alter my res, always been with 1024 x 768. Lee did suggest it but it’s my eyes that suffer.
I wonder who’m Clundy is, he/she comes and goes. It’s strange you ask it certainly isn’t me.
Cheers
JohnApril 3, 2018 at 8:40 pm #19177@johnbarry That’s why I asked, I see the picture often and confuse it with you sometimes. The image appears to be a family relation all though this one like’s Motorbikes.

April 3, 2018 at 9:02 pm #19180When I first seen it I thought it might be confusing. I change mine (removed the Ape) but then thought, no I will leave it.
I am now considering moveing Ape as it’s pixly when larger. I have tried your suggested settings but it stretches out and looks worse.
Clundy has the better Ape (pixels) but lighter.
Cheers
JohnApril 4, 2018 at 7:39 am #19199Ctrl and + only affects the browser page image – it magnifies it. It does not alter the screen resolution.
Ctrl and = reverses it and decreases browser page image size.
Both sets of keystrokes work in Firefox edge and IE. Neither alter the actual window size. You can repeat ctrl+ at least three times – I’m not sure if there is an upper limit as I have never needed to use the sequence more than three times.
Try it you may like it.
I find it very useful running Linux vms within a 4K monitor as Linux does not have Windows automatic font size function.
btw just resize your Ape image to 300×300 you can do this without making it too pixelated. link
April 4, 2018 at 8:46 am #19203Ed I tried it, at first I liked it. However after a few tries it seemed to stick and the top banner altered with the menu (contact login forums etc) in the banner as apposed to the menu box.
Even after closing FF and re opening it was the same?
April 4, 2018 at 9:03 am #19204Nice one Ed I like it, it helps my eyes a lot.
Cheers
JohnApril 4, 2018 at 7:36 pm #19229I had a typo in my post CTRL and – (the minus sign) reduces the image size. Sorry about that!
April 4, 2018 at 10:28 pm #19238No probs I found out
Cheers
