Is there a set-top box, dongle etc.. That will do all of the major services like Netflix, Prime & Now? Had a brief look but nada. I have prime which is never used because I do not want to sit at a pc, laptop or phone watching it, I have nowtv but I do not often switch over to that either and I want Netflix for the new Startrek.

I have tried through Kodi but the apps are either broken or desperate. Oh, and Kodi as no nowtv. Plus the nowtv boxes are locked so no side loading apps on there. Does the Roku 3 do all the above?

Amazon Fire TV (not the one due at the end of the month) is the easiest to tweak due to the USB slot , the Fire sticks are more of a learning curve if you want Kodi on there, not exactly difficult though. Alexa works very well through the remote or app on phone/tablet.

Edit. Looks like they are out of stock pretty much everywhere.

Yes the ROKU 3 does all you ask, but I know you like your live TV, the roku isn’t great at that. You can get BBC, now tv and itv only. Legally anyhow.

Whereas the Amazon tvs have app support for live tv apps, as will any android based  tv solution.

The roku is inferior to Amazon and android boxes, but I like simple when it come to veg time.

If you do go roku, don’t go lower than a 3, they are feeling their age. In the beebs wisdom, they rolled out the same app from ps4 down to the roku 1, it crippled the one, slowed the two, and you could tell of the apps heft even on the 3.

No, I don’t mind switching from normal tv to a box and back it’s just switch from one to another and another and another that may get my back up. I have a 5 year series I am recording from terrestrial so that will be staying for at least that long, I am only a few month in.

The Amazon Prime app is due soon for the Apple TV, which I think would then do all you need (though I’ve not tried the Now app on it).

Once it gets Prime, I’ll probably sign up for Prime again, as I currently don’t have it cos it’s not on Apple TV.
