Well worth a watch – here
Each to their own but for me (FFW through the rest) Van Morrison, Gregory Porter and Paul Weller superb, the African band worth a listen. Some excellent performances – catch it while you can
October 8, 2017 at 3:51 am #12429FiL loves this show, I honestly thought It was just a new years eve show, as if we do new year at his it’s the done thing in their house to have this on. Usually it will be a Lee evens dvd (bores me to death), then this show. Luckily for me they like a drink so I’m usually hammered by then.
In mine we do bbc1 for the fireworks. Usually watch a couple of kids films curled up on the couch, watch the fireworks then bed. We don’t drink in our house. I’ve not drank in my house since about 2005. Except the odd occasions when friends stay over. Nothing against drinking at home, my elder kids do it. I’ve just don’t like a during outside the pub. Funny my dad was the same, even though he was an alcoholic. Thankfully I’m not. Though untill about 4 years ago I did go out about 5 nights a week, so I could of been on the path. Now I get out about once every other month.
Never been one to go out on new year. I don’t like enforced fun, or being ripped off.
October 8, 2017 at 9:51 am #12435Thanks for posting up the link. What a treat, will be viewing tonight.
I do like sounds of the 80’s, with come to bed eyes, Sarah Cox. the vids are bril and some of the interviews out standing.
Gig wise I am going to see: The beat & The Selecter, backing one another at a neat venue: Leicester, De Montford hall in Novemeber.
I cannot wait, great tunes and I love the sound of live Brass. 🙂
October 8, 2017 at 3:44 pm #12470My lad likes it, being an 80’s music era man. I will watch if Ruby Turner, Wille Nelson or any decent Blues artiste is on. Can’t stand Jools himself, but loved the music of Squeeze in their day, still got some vinyl albums. Some of the acts I will switch off. NYEve is a Home Night, just me and our Gert, who struggles to stay awake until 11, never mind 12. Usually with youngest gdaughter asleep in this Desktop Room/spare bedroom, although she is 12 now and will probably (be allowed) demand to stay up.
One of my relatives produced a sprogette, a few minutes after midnight on NYE 2001. Imagine that birthdate: 010101. Should have called her Binary Babe.? Or 6 Bits.
When the Thought Police arrive at your door, think -
I'm out.October 8, 2017 at 4:45 pm #12478Should have called her Efta (Greek for seven).
One of my grand-daughters was born on 03-14-12,(US format) but her parents totally refused to call her Pi! Be interesting to see if she ever recognises the significance of her birthdate, as Pi day is not celebrated in the UK the way it is in the US.
