Something I’ve been meaning to do for a while.

As you all know I use a lot of Ubiquiti UniFi kit to provide a professional WiFi service for domestic and business customers. To be manageable they need a controller on a local IP subnet or hosted elsewhere accessible via DNS. Ubiquiti provide the controller software for free for Win, Mac and *nix and Amazon EC2 provides a low cost virtual Ubuntu 16.04 LTS server (free for 1st year) so I went for it.

Within an hour a publicly accessible server was set up, Putty installed on my PC (to access the server CLI) and the UniFi controller installed. The UniFi software did all the migration from my local server to the Cloud server and it was so quick no-one noticed.

      Wonderful.
